Terms of Use
SpoolState for Android · Last updated: 28 July 2026
These terms govern the use of the app SpoolState. The provider is Hendrik Sachs (Legal Notice). By registering an account you agree to them.
1. What SpoolState is
SpoolState manages stock of 3D printing filament: spools, remaining amounts, locations, consumption. The app is developed as a private project and provided free of charge. There is no advertising, no in-app purchases and no paid additional features.
2. Use without an account
SpoolState can be used entirely without an account. The stock is then held solely on the device. In that case these terms apply accordingly, in so far as they do not relate to an account.
3. Account
- An account is only necessary if you want to back up your stock in the cloud or share it between devices.
- When registering, give an email address that you have access to. Password resets run through it — if the address was entered incorrectly, nobody can help you.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for actions carried out through your account.
- You can delete your account yourself at any time: Settings → Account → Delete account. This also erases all associated data (see Privacy Policy).
4. Your content
The data you enter into SpoolState — spools, notes, locations, project names — belongs to you. I use it solely in order to provide the app to you; it is not analysed, not sold and not passed on to third parties.
You warrant that you will not enter any unlawful content and that you will not use the app to infringe the rights of third parties or to disrupt its operation (for example through automated bulk access).
5. Availability
SpoolState is a spare-time project. I do not warrant any particular availability. The service may be changed, restricted or discontinued at any time.
Should cloud operation come to an end, the following applies: the app remains usable without an account, and you can back up your entire stock at any time via Settings → Data → Export. Do this regularly. An export is the only backup that nobody can take away from you.
6. Warranty
SpoolState is provided free of charge and without any warranty of particular characteristics. Where something is provided free of charge, the provider is liable only for defects of quality and defects of title which he has fraudulently concealed (§§ 521, 524 BGB applied accordingly).
7. Liability
I am liable without limitation in cases of intent and gross negligence, as well as for damage arising from injury to life, body or health.
Otherwise liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law. In particular I accept no liability for loss of data resulting from your own failure to make a backup (section 5), and none for decisions based on information given by the app — the remaining amounts, drying recommendations and costs displayed are guidance values, not measurement results.
Liability under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz) remains unaffected.
8. Third-party information
SpoolState ships with a filament catalogue (source: SpoolmanDB, MIT License) and can
retrieve spool data from prusament.com on request. This information does not
come from me. It consists of suggestions that you can check and change — I do not vouch
for its accuracy.
9. Changes to these terms
I may change these terms where there is an objective reason for doing so — for example new features or a changed legal situation. I will give notice of material changes in the app or by email to the address stored in the account. If you do not object within six weeks, or if you continue to use the app, the changes are deemed accepted. I will point this right out to you expressly again in the notice.
10. Termination
You can end your use at any time by deleting your account and uninstalling the app. I may block or delete an account if it repeatedly and significantly breaches section 4; beforehand you will be warned by email, as far as this is possible.
11. Final provisions
German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the state in which you are resident remain unaffected. If a provision is invalid, the remaining provisions remain effective.
